"Just a little back ground on me for you.  I was at Comiso from Aug 89 - Aug 90.  .  I don't know if GLCM terms stayed the same for the life of GLCM so if I use any here that need explaining let me know.  I read about folks talking about the start-up.  That had to be some exciting times.  I've also seen comments from folks who were there during the mid-life of GLCM.  To complete a little more of the GLCM life-cycle here are a couple of things that happened just before draw-down during my time.  We sent out several BR-Teams and positioned them from the north part of the island to the south.  The delay time from when you keyed to when you could talk and not cut off any words was at about 10 seconds. Hey, any excuse to get off base to see more of the island and we didn't have to use any gas ration cards.  We were told that this was the first time a relay was done from the north to the south of Sicily. I would be interested to hear from others if this was done before or if we just had smoke blown at us.  I am able to say that I was there for the last training dispersal for GLCM I worked in the Comm SMU shop, which also provided the Blank Relay Teams for the training dispersal's."
